VERSATILE Milling Vice with Swivel Base

Features: Made of grey cast iron. This vice may be used on it's own or with the removable swivel base supplied. Angle lock clamping. When tightening the vice, the angled face on the nut transmits it's clamping force both forwards and downwards via a self-aligning spherical segment. The spherical segment locates in a corresponding recess inside the movable jaw preventing the jaw from lifting off the guideway. A small amount of jaw lift is possible depending on the type of work being held. A friction reducing thrust ball bearing increases clamping pressure when closing the vice. Both ends of the fixed jaw have an M8 threaded hole for mounting a work stop (not included). For light work, the capacity of the vice can be increased by mounting the jaw plates on either end of the jaws or even on the top of the moveable jaw. Note: The fixed and moveable jaw holder height may vary. If necessary, pack/shim as required if using the vice in these configurations. Supplied with swivel base marked in 1 degree increments, locking handle, 2x T-Bolts and 2x locating keys. Note: For greater accuracy, an index mark should be scribed on the vice with the swivel base properly located on your milling table with location keys and the fixed jaw clocked square to the table. Veritas 14° Dovetail Marker

For quick and accurate marking of dovetails, a guide is the best way to go. The Veritas Dovetail Markers are designed to be large enough to cater for most sized dovetails, and able to flipped over to allow both slopes of the dovetail to be marked. Their design allows the front face of the dovetail to be referenced from the top mark, eliminating any guess work. Made from aluminium, they are light and will not damage the timber. The 14° angle is traditionally used in blind dovetails, when making drawers, so the joints are hidden from the front.

Veritas 14° Dovetail Saddle Marker

For quick, accurate marking of dovetails, a dovetail marker is the best tool available. Our dovetail saddle markers are precision machined at 1:6 and 1:8 angles, the traditional angles for softwood and hardwood dovetails respectively. The new 14 marker is designed to approximate a 1:4 ratio, for those who prefer this angle when working in thinner stock, as it not only provides stronger material interlock than traditional ratio angles but produces a slightly exaggerated dovetail joint that many find attractive. The long legs ensure accurate registration. Also, much like the Veritas saddle square they are based on, they allow a continuous line to be transferred around the corner, so the straight and angled lines can be scribed at the same time, ensuring perfect alignment. The inside corner is relieved to ensure flush seating even on saw whiskers. Made from anodized aluminum, these markers are light and durable, and will never mark your work. Made in Canada. Read Less

Veritas 1:6 & 1:8 Dovetail Markers (Set of Two)

For quick, accurate marking of dovetails, a dovetail marker is the best tool available. With riding ledges on both sides, these 2" 2" markers can be flipped over to mark both slopes of the dovetail. They are designed so that the entire ledge is riding on the reference face, even when marking edge dovetails. The relieved corners at the join of the body and the riding ledges ensure perfect seating even on saw whiskers. Made from anodized aluminum, these markers are light, durable and never soil your work. Available as a set in the traditional ratios of 1:6 for softwood and 1:8 for hardwood. The 14 marker is designed to approximate a 1:4 ratio, for those who prefer this angle when working in thinner stock, as it not only provides stronger material interlock than traditional ratio angles but produces a slightly exaggerated dovetail joint that many find attractive. Veritas 1:6 Dovetail cutting Guide

Hand-cut dovetails remain the mark of the skilled cabinetmaker and a feature that buyers look for in high-end furniture. Veritas has developed a guide and saw system that lets amateurs achieve professional results. The system also allows the seasoned expert to produce dovetail joints more quickly and with less effort. The Veritas dovetail guides, which clamp in position, hold the saw at the correct place and the correct angle for a perfect cut. 3/4" rare-earth magnets embedded in the anodized aluminum guide and covered with a layer of low-friction UHMW plastic keep the saw perfectly aligned as you cut. You still have to chop out waste from the tails and pins, but the detailed instructions give you tips on how to do this quickly and accurately. Clamping capacity of the guides covers material from 1/4" to 1" thick. They come in the traditional ratios of 1:6 and 1:8, for softwood and hardwood respectively; however, as a result of modern glues, there is nothing stopping you from using either ratio on your choice of wood. You can also create an interesting variation by using both in a single joint. The guides can be used with any backless saw that has approximately 0.005" of tooth set, but work best with the Veritas dovetail saw that has been designed specifically for them. The 2" 8 1/2" blade has 22 tpi and 0.005" of tooth set. The dozuki tooth form is effective in both crosscuts and rip cuts. Patented. Guides made in Canada. Read Less

Veritas Cabinet Scraper

This cabinet scraper is a very useful and versatile tool. Used in place of a much heavier belt sander, it can clean a dirty workbench top, remove dried glue and smooth a panel or tricky grain table top efficiently, leaving behind a surface free of tear-out, digs or gouges. We have designed this tool with several improvements over what is usually known as the #80 cabinet scraper. To allow the user to apply pressure directly in line with the cutting edge and prevent the blade catching when the scraper runs off the end of the workpiece, the sole is longer and the handles have been placed further back and slightly lower than seen in other scrapers. The blade is 2 3/4" wide with both edges ground at 45 so that the tool may have two cutting edges prepared at once, thus halving the number of sharpening sessions. The casting is shaped to protect both the upward-facing cutting edge and the user from accidental damage. Made from ductile cast iron, the scraper will stand up to vigorous use. The sole is surface ground for accuracy. Two screws secure the blade, and the l knob is used to set blade camber. The sole is 3 3/16" long, 3 3/8" wide. Overall length is 11 1/2". Weighs about 1 lb, 10 oz. Comes with detailed instructions. Patented. Made in Canada. Read Less

Veritas Chisel Plane

Rabbet planes used to be widely available, but are now being discontinued by manufacturers. We developed this specialized plane to convert a chisel into a rabbet plane. The body is made of ductile cast iron and is configured to hold a 1" bevel-edge chisel at a 45 angle, the same pitch as used on bench planes. It becomes a small plane that works equally well as a shoulder plane or rabbet plane and can be used to clean up machine-cut rabbets and tenons. It works like a butt mortice plane for cutting hinge gains. It will also cut 1" dadoes and grooves up to a depth of 3/8". Precisely machined. Overall size is 1 3/8" wide by 5 1/2" long by 2 1/2" high. The clamping screw is solid brass. While it excels as a job-site plane, it is equally handy in the shop. Made in Canada. Read Less

Veritas Crosscut Tenon Saw

Veritas Tenon Saws Weighing just under 1 1/2 lb (650 grams) with 16" (406mm) blades, these are the largest tenon saws in the Veritas line. This is the 12 teeth per inch (TPI) crosscut saw, but they are also available in 9 TPI rip tooth style. The blades are made from 0.024" (0.6mm) thick high-carbon steel with 0.003" (0.076mm) of set per side and a cut depth of nearly 4" (100mm). The tenon saw teeth on the crosscut saw have a 15 rake and have been filed with alternating 15 bevels so they sever wood fibres rather than tear them for precision work, fine and accurate cuts. Each tenon saw is well balanced, with a spine moulded from a mixture of stainless-steel powder for weight, glass fibre for stiffness and a polymer resin binder. The closed handle is configured for exceptional control for a saw of this size and weight, with a hardwood grip secured by a stainless-steel bolt and brass nut. The tenon saw blade and handle-mounting bolt are moulded into the spine, creating a solid blade/spine/mount assembly. All woodworkers need a fine tenon saw with supremely sharp teeth and so the Veritas hand saws are excellent value considering their ideal features, materials, and cutting ability. They're suitable for enthusiasts and experts alike. Veritas Tools are made in Canada. Read Less

Veritas Dual Marking Gauge

With two independently adjustable rods, this gauge lets you set two measurements at once, so you can quickly alternate between them when transferring or marking repetitive dimensions. Projection up to 5 3/4" is easy to set, since an internal O-ring keeps light but constant friction on each rod; a thumbscrew locks the setting. The hardened steel wheel cutters scribe perfectly at any point of their circumference. Since they cut wood fibers rather than tear, marks are clean, even on cross grain. The cutting wheels are oriented with opposing bevels, ensuring that you can always set the bevel in the waste side of a cut. One rod has its cutting edge at the extreme end of the rod, making it useful for transferring dimensions such as tenon shoulder and mortice depth. Each cutter can be retracted into the brass face for safe storage or to permit use with a single cutter. The eccentric placement of the rods ensures a large reference face and helps the gauge resist rolling on a surface. Aluminum housing with brass face and stainless-steel rods. 7 1/4" overall. The gauge is available on its own or with a shaft clamp. Designed to fit onto the gauge's guide rods, the shaft clamp lets you lock the relative position of the cutters while still being able to freely adjust the fence for offset. This allows you to preserve identical mortice or tenon sizing when joining parts of different thicknesses or when adding a reveal, since it prevents the cutter settings from shifting while the fence is being repositioned. Machined to precise tolerances to prevent binding on the rods, the 1/2" long collar is made from extruded aluminum, with a turned brass thumbscrew that tightens onto the marking gauge's steel guide rods without marring their surfaces.Made in Canada.
